Week 10.1 - A big thank you

I just wanted to say a huge thanks and congratulations to all who were able to assist with the firewood raffle.  You all did an amazing job and raised $1000 for the school, $500 of which comes directly to the class.  You guys are amazing!! So a huge thank you once again!! Sean PS, if your child hasn't brought in their materials for their STEM activity (iceblock device) please assist them to do so.  Thanks

Week 10

Good afternoon parents,Welcome to week 10 (yep, already!!). This week we are continuing our poetry unit after writing our chocolate Haiku on Friday.  We will continue exploring different types of poems. In maths we are exploring chance as we examine what this is and what it means. Tomorrow we will be building our devices to slow the melting of an iceblock, so if your child hasn't brought in materials to do this, please assist them to remember their equipment for tomorrow. Homework   Homework this week will include spelling and reading as normal.  Our maths however, will involve practicing the 2, 3 and 4 times tables. Reminders Cross Country On Wednesday (the 1st of July) we have our annual our cross country carnival. We ask that your child come to school in their coloured faction shirt ready for the day. Mr Lee has sent out information on this event, with the carnival expected

Week 9

Good afternoon parents, Welcome (almost) to Week 9.  We are almost at the end of a very different yet interesting semester! This week we are working on poetry, having completed our Persuasive writing unit.  We will be exploring a number of types of poems.  We will also be starting to to write our own poems, including inferring and chocolate Haiku!  In maths we are exploring perimeter and finishing our work on measurement.  In science will be having an end of unit assessment and building our devices to slow the melting of an iceblock. Reminders Homework   I have noticed that a few of the students are not bringing homework in on Fridays for me to check.  Further, there are a few who seem to be forgetting their books to set up on Mondays.  Please assist your child to remember to bring their books back to school on Fridays and leave them to reset on Mondays.  Homework this week will be as per previous weeks, with reading, spelling and mental maths to be signed on the homework grid.
