Hello and welcome Parents to the Year 3Mc blog I hope you have been able to make the most of this amazing sunshine and the beautiful environment that we live in.  Hopefully you have had an opportunity to relax and are all refreshed ready for an amazing school year! I am very much looking forward to the year ahead and getting to know your fabulous children.  Year three is a big year and one that I hope to help your children build a love of learning.  A few important things for the start of Year Three:  First day       At present, C OVID  guidelines welcome adults onto school grounds, however parents are not yet allowed to enter the classrooms.  I will be welcoming the children at the classroom doors for Week 1.  If you are concerned, then please  email me  before the first day.     Class Blog I will use this blog as the main form of communication for information over the coming year.  I will also send an SMS ...

Welcome to week 8...only 9 days of school left! Can you believe it? Firstly, a really big thank you to those parents who were able to help out last Thursday, the excursion was a great success as the photos below show. This week we are finishing our Living Things unit is science, finishing our interactive choose your own adventure books and working on geometry in maths.  Dress rehearsal This Wednesday, 2nd December we will have our dress rehearsal for our dance concert.  Please ensure your child brings their costume to school on Wednesday.  we will get changed after lunch before we head to the hall for dance, so please ensure that all uniform and costumes are appropriately labeled. Remember, our costume is; PLAIN WHITE T-SHIRT . If they have a white T-shirt with patterns, logos etc please turn inside out. Boys- if they only have a button up white shirt (short sleeves) then that is fine to wear.   Wow, week 7!! I will keep this blog brief but wanted to disseminate some information about our excursion this week.  Excursion Thank you to those parents who have volunteered to help out Thursday.  Your help is greatly appreciated and I have emailed you details of the day. Because we are visiting two sites for our excursion, we will be forming the two classes.  One class will visit Djiljit Mia while the other visits Discover Deadly.  The classes will then swap.  Students will travel to and from Discover Deadly by bus, while those at Djiljit Mia in the morning will walk to the site and the others will walk home from the site.  As such, students will need to carry their bags with lunch and drink bottles as they will eat lunch at Djiljit Mia.  They will also need to wear their hats. I have asked students to wear their sport uniforms, not their faction shirts.  This makes seeing them quickly easy as they are all wearing the same clothing. ...

Not sure about you, but I thought last week flew by!! This week we have new GWN7/Scitech Weather Wall reporters, so if you are available our results should be displayed at about 5:39 as part of the Weather Segment of the GWN news. Last week we finished money and tried a new type of activity that involved progressing levels, like a video game.  It was great to see how engaged the kids were in the activity. We also had our first dance lesson.  As the photo shows, great fun was had by all! While I am on dance, Mrs Haines has requested that we wear sports uniform on Wednesdays also for this term.  This will make dance more comfortable and safer for all.  Good morning and welcome back.  Can you believe that it is already term 4? This term we are lucky enough to have been chosen as one of the GWN7/Scitech Weather Wall schools.  We have today looked at how to read the maximum/minimum thermometer and rainfall gauge and I have submitted our results for this week (we report on Mondays) Our results should be displayed  as part of the Weather Segment of the GWN news, which happens approximately 9 minutes into the News Broadcast from 5:30-6pm. This term in Literacy we are beginning with procedures.  In Science we are beginning our Biological Science unit of work, where we will be looking at the characteristics of living things.
