Week 6 Term 3
Good Afternoon and welcome to week 6!!
Can you believe that we are already in week 6? This term is certainly flying!
This week we are practicing our formal algorithms for multiplication before we move onto division. In English we are reading and writing informative paragraphs. Our keeping safe health program is in full swing as we are focused on private and what to do if we are feeling uncomfortable. In science we are exploring how the size of things may change the rate at which they change state.
Homework
Homework this week includes the homework grid, reading, mental maths and a spelling list with the focus sound that we are learning. Should your child require a new reader, please support them to remember to bring it in to be swapped.
Reminders
Before school Drop Off
At this point, we have been directed that restrictions of adults in the class will continue until instructed otherwise so Kiss and Drop will still remain. As school begins at 8.40 am, if your child arrives after this time, you will have to sign them in at the office. Further, in line with this, assemblies are still on hold, but I will provide as much notice as possible as to when they return.
Library books
We have had a vast improvement in the number of people that remembered their library bags, but there are still a few that forget. Please work with your child to remember their library bag on Thursdays as book appreciation and exchange is very important to help us progress our reading.
OLC Athletics Carnival
This Thursday (27th of August) is our sport carnival. We have been busy practicing our team games in anticipation for what promises to be a wonderful day full of excitement and no doubt exhausted children. If you wish to collect your child early, please complete the attached form and return it to me.
Dates to remember
Pupil Free Day: Friday 28th August
Catholic Day (Pupil Free Day): Monday 31st August
Photo Day: Thursday 10th and Friday 11th of September
As always, thanks for your ongoing support and if you need any further information, please send me an email.
