Term 3 Week 9

 Good afternoon and welcome to week 9

This week we are working to finish our Major Australian Place reports, so if your child is yet to bring in their research assignment, please support them to remember.

This week Students will be undertaking their First Reconciliation. The appointment schedule is complete, but if your child will be undertaking their First Reconciliation and you don't have a time scheduled, please see me or Mrs Meyer.  All Reconciliations will take place at Our Lady of the Southern Cross Church.  Please support your child be remain reverent and quiet while waiting to complete their reconciliation and afterwards while exiting the hall.  

We will then attend a Celebration Mass in the hall next Tuesday (22nd September) at 10 am.  If you are able to attend, we would love to see you there.

WHEELIE, WALKIE, WASTE-FREE WEDNESDAY 🚲🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🌟

Don't forget that our Wheelie, Walkie, Waste -Free Wednesdays will continue each this week (16th September).  We are currently in 2nd position so if possible, please support your child to join this wonderful initiative.

MISSION MARKETS 
On the last day of school (Thursday the 24th of September) the children will be participating in our annual feast day - The assumption of Mary. Each class is asked run a stall. This year we will be 'Throwing stuff'.  To assist with prizes, please send in a fun size chocolate bag (ie mars bars, snickers etc) by 22nd September to be used as prizes. 

PUPIL FREE DAY
Just a reminder that the Friday of week 10 (25th September) is a pupil free day.  We will be undertaking professional learning on mathematics in the classroom, so a great topic as we gear up for the final push to the line (term 4)!

Week 3

Welcome to week three. I hope you were all able to enjoy at least a little of the wonderful weather we had over the weekend, I know I did! This week we are moving into addition strategies in maths and continuing working through narrative writing in literacy.  This week in science we are exploring and manipulating shadows. Just a few points of note this week;  Homework Students have glued into their homework books their spelling, ma ths and homework grid. This is due Friday to provide opportunity to complete this around the busy home schedule.  All students have brought home a reader and I am starting to see these be swapped.  If your child has finished their reader, please encourage them to swap this in the morning before lesson start.  Please support your child to complete their homework by providing them the time to sit and complete this work.  Hello 3Mc parents and welcome to week 5! I can’t believe we are nearly half way through the term! I hope that you all had a great weekend.  Stop Motion In art this term we are learning about and creating stop motion movies.  Students have created story boards outlining what they intend filming and as such know what characters they will need.  Please support your child to remember the characters they will need to commence filming this Wednesday. Students may like to bring small figures such as lego to represent the characters of their movies. Pupil Free day: A reminder that there is a pupil free day on Friday 12 November. The staff will be creating our School Improvement Plan for 2022, work on our school Vision for learning, analyse our NAPLAN and PAT test data and school strategic plan. Good afternoon and welcome to Week 6. Our Learning This week we are continuing to develop the structure of our persuasive paragraphs where we are focused on PEEing in our paragraphs (Point, Explain, Example). In Maths, we are learning about collecting and interpreting data. In Science, we have been exploring how our shadows change throughout the day with our own 'Mary Poppins'  moments.
