Sundial Watch Design Task

Good afternoon Year 3 parents, 

In Design and Technologies the students have been given a task to create a sundial watch that can be used effectively to tell the time. 

For this project the students are working individually and must bring in items from home to help create their sundial watch. Students created a list of the materials they will require, these may have included:  

Elastic Bands 

  • Rubber
  • Wooden sticks/toothpicks  
  • String 
  • Cardboard 
  • Ribbon 
  • Aluminium foil  
  • Wire 
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Pop sticks
  • Plastic lids
  • Ice-cream cup

Paint, glue and coloured card will be provided.  

The students will need their materials for our next Design and Technology class on Wednesday 10th March 2021.

Week 3

Welcome to week three. I hope you were all able to enjoy at least a little of the wonderful weather we had over the weekend, I know I did! This week we are moving into addition strategies in maths and continuing working through narrative writing in literacy.  This week in science we are exploring and manipulating shadows. Week 5

 Hello 3Mc parents and welcome to week 5! I can’t believe we are nearly half way through the term! I hope that you all had a great weekend.  Stop Motion In art this term we are learning about and creating stop motion movies.  Students have created story boards outlining what they intend filming and as such know what characters they will need.  Please support your child to remember the characters they will need to commence filming this Wednesday. Students may like to bring small figures such as lego to represent the characters of their movies. Pupil Free day: A reminder that there is a pupil free day on Friday 12 November. The staff will be creating our School Improvement Plan for 2022, work on our school Vision for learning, analyse our NAPLAN and PAT test data and school strategic plan. Good afternoon and welcome to Week 6. Our Learning This week we are continuing to develop the structure of our persuasive paragraphs where we are focused on PEEing in our paragraphs (Point, Explain, Example).
