Week 9

Good afternoon and welcome to week 9!!

Thank you to those who were able to attend our reconciliation parent meeting and enrollment mass last week.  The kids conducted themselves brilliantly!

Well done also to all the kids for their participation in the Athletics events last Wednesday, Thursday and during our carnival last Friday! I was so proud of the way everyone got in there and had a go!  Yay 3M!

In literacy we are reading and writing poetry.

In Maths, we have measured the school and are into using these to map the school.  As the photos show, the kids are working very hard on their communication and mapping skills.  They appear to be having a lot of fun too as they are engaged and raring to go!

REMINDERS - WEEK 8

Shoebox Donations - If you have not done so already, please bring these items are in as soon as possible...this is such an amazing cause and all contributions are greatly appreciated!

Jungle Book - All students will be attending the matinee tomorrow, but please do get along to one of the performances on either Thursday or Friday!  Tickets are available from the office.

HOMEWORK - WEEK 8
Reading -Please make sure that your child is reading out loud to you each night. This is an important skill in helping them to decode unfamiliar words and to attend to meaning - this means that they realise that what they are reading may not make sense if they have changed/missed/substituted a word. It is great if your child loves to read whilst they are getting ready for bed and I strongly encourage this reading for pleasure...please make sure that both is happening.

Spelling - Students are to complete a LCWC of their list words for the week. These are review words for this week as they will be tested on the words covered over the past months - a quick run through for your child would be great for their confidence!

Sight Words - If you can please work with your child to complete these every night.

Mental Maths - Students are to complete Days 1-4 of Unit 26. This is marked daily in class each morning. It is fine if students work ahead on this.

Times Tables - Activity Sheet - 9 Times Tables. Students are asked to write out their tables in order on Monday and Tuesday nights and then complete them out of order on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
