Week 1 Term 2

Welcome back to school everyone! I hope you all enjoyed some special family time over Easter and the fabulous weather!!

Our Learning

This week we are working on narratives in Literacy, reading and examining what makes great narratives.  To assist with setting writing and prepare for tomorrow, I have asked students to have a look at the abandoned places pictures from The literacy Shed, coming to school tomorrow (Thursday) having chosen a picture they can use to describe the setting.  I have told the students that I do not expect them to write anything as tomorrow we will be creating a graphic organiser to help when we write our descriptive paragraphs.

In maths we are working on multiplication strategies and in science we will begin our  Physical Science unit.

In literacy, we have moved from persuasive writing to narrative.  In maths, we are learning about 2d and 3d shapes. Today we have made our sundial watches, and as the pictures below show, our watches are pretty successful!
