Week 1 Term 2

Welcome back to school everyone! I hope you all enjoyed some special family time over Easter and the fabulous weather!! Our Learning This week we are working on narratives in Literacy, reading and examining what makes great narratives.   To assist with setting writing and prepare for tomorrow, I have asked students  to have a look at the abandoned places pictures from The literacy Shed , coming to school tomorrow (Thursday) having chosen a picture they can use to describe the setting.  I have told the students that I do not expect them to write anything as tomorrow we will be creating a graphic organiser to help when we write our descriptive paragraphs. In maths we are working on multiplication strategies and in science we will begin our  Physical Science  unit. Good afternoon parents,  Welcome to week 10  This week we will continue Holy Week celebrations.  Holy Week is a very important time in the Catholic faith as we remember and celebrate the events leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection. In literacy, we have moved from persuasive writing to narrative.  In maths, we are learning about 2d and 3d shapes. Today we have made our sundial watches, and as the pictures below show, our watches are pretty successful! Reminders Easter Egg Raffle  - Please make sure that you have brought in your donation for the raffle which will be held on Friday. Your child has been given their raffle tickets. If you would like to be in the raffle, please return one half of the tickets with your family name clearly written on each ticket and $5. I will be collecting the raffle tickets for 3Mc as this year we are having major prizes drawn for each year group. All money raised during this time is donated to Project Compassion. Each

Good afternoon parent, Welcome to week 9  This week we begin celebrating Holy Week.  Holy Week is a very important time in the Catholic faith as we remember and celebrate the events leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection. This week we will finish our work on Persuasive Writing, before moving onto Narrative.  In Maths we are working on division and its relation to multiplication. In Science we completed a Kahoot quiz and planned a sundial watch that we will be constructing next Monday.  Students need to bring the materials required to construct their watches, so please support your child by talking about and reminding them to bring the materials they need by Monday.
