Week 3

Welcome to week 3 (already!!)

NAPLAN - This begins Wednesday morning and the schedule runs as outlined below.
  • Wednesday 15th May - Writing 
  • Thursday 16th May - Reading 
  • Wednesday 22nd May - Language Conventions 
  • Thursday 23rd May - Numeracy

Our focus is on keeping the whole week low key and stress free! We had a good chat where we talked about NAPLAN and I reminded the students that this test only tells the assessors a little about their learning...it doesn't tell them about their other talents and strengths. We talked about how all that we (myself and our parents) just ask and know that they will do their very best!  

If I can ask if you can make sure they have a good breakfast and are as organised as possible to reduce any stress or concerns.

At the end of each assessment our normal learning program will resume...the Year 3 world doesn't stop!



HOMEWORK - WEEK 3


Reading - All reading is to be written into their new reading log, including the name of the book and number of pages and then signed by you.

Spelling - I have included four personal spelling words this week from our writing.  these are words that I have helped your child to spell correctly in their writing.

Maths - Please complete Unit 13.

Good afternoon parents, I cannot believe that we are in the last week of Year Three for 2018... the whole year has  gone very fast and we have watched your children grow into beautiful, mature, capable and motivated students! Ihave loved working with them and have been an absolute pleasure to teach! REMINDERS - WEEK 9 Vinny's Donations -  Our tub is located in the wet area. If you can please make any small donation of toiletry items it will go a long way to helping make someone's Christmas very special. These hampers will be put together and handed over at assembly on Friday morning. Books To Go Home -  We ask the each child bring a green bag or plastic bag to school this week so they can take home their books from the year.  Christmas Concert -  On Wednesday at 5.30pm, the entire school will be getting together to celebrate the Year 6 Graduation, the Christmas concert performed by the Year 5's and each year group will be presenting the 2018 Making Jesus Real CAR

Week 3

Good afternoon parents and welcome to  Week 3 !  Our Reconciliation celebration is on Wednesday night beginning at 6pm at Our Lady of the Southern Cross Church. Please see below for some important information. RECONCILIATION REMINDERS - WEDNESDAY 24TH OCTOBER 6PM  Arrival Time & Dress  - Please be at the Church by 5.45pm.  Your child is to be dressed in smart casual clothing. Upon arrival they will show you to your seat. Please be mindful that some of the pews are quite small so it will be for immediate family only (parents/siblings). There will be room in the choir loft for additional family members. Prayer Buddies  - All prayer buddies are expected to attend...please let me know via email if you are unable to attend. Rehearsals  - We will be walking down to the Church on Tuesday afternoon from 1.30 - 2.45pm and then again on Wednesday 11.30- 1.30pm - please make sure your child brings a packed lunch for Wednesday as we will eat down at the church. Week 10

Good afternoon parents,  Welcome to week 10  This week we will continue Holy Week celebrations.  Holy Week is a very important time in the Catholic faith as we remember and celebrate the events leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection. In literacy, we have moved from persuasive writing to narrative.  In maths, we are learning about 2d and 3d shapes. Today we have made our sundial watches, and as the pictures below show, our watches are pretty successful! Reminders Easter Egg Raffle  - Please make sure that you have brought in your donation for the raffle which will be held on Friday. Your child has been given their raffle tickets. If you would like to be in the raffle, please return one half of the tickets with your family name clearly written on each ticket and $5. I will be collecting the raffle tickets for 3Mc as this year we are having major prizes drawn for each year group. All money raised during this time is donated to Project Compassion. Each
