Week 1 Term 3

Welcome back to Term three! 
I hope you all had a fun yet relaxing holiday and your children are feeling refreshed and ready for another big term!

This term in writing we are finishing our poetry unit, where we are exploring some of Roald Dahl's wonderful poems and writing some more of our own.  We will then move onto informative writing with a research assignment to come home later this term. Our Maths focus will begin with multiplication and division.  

In Science we will be working on chemical science where we will be exploring the changing states of matter.  In art, we are learning about and making our very own stop motion movies!

Homework
Homework will be sent home on Monday which includes the homework grid, fluency reading grid and a spelling list with the focus sound that we are learning. 

Before school Drop Off 
At this point, we have been directed that restrictions of adults in the class will continue until instructed otherwise so Kiss and Drop will still remain. As school begins at 8.40 am, if your child arrives after this time, you will have to sign them in at the office. Further, in line with this, assemblies are still on hold, but I will provide as much notice as possible as to when they return.

Good afternoon parents and welcome to  Week 3 !  Our Reconciliation celebration is on Wednesday night beginning at 6pm at Our Lady of the Southern Cross Church. Please see below for some important information. RECONCILIATION REMINDERS - WEDNESDAY 24TH OCTOBER 6PM  Arrival Time & Dress  - Please be at the Church by 5.45pm.  Your child is to be dressed in smart casual clothing. Week 9

Good afternoon parents, I cannot believe that we are in the last week of Year Three for 2018... the whole year has  gone very fast and we have watched your children grow into beautiful, mature, capable and motivated students! Ihave loved working with them and have been an absolute pleasure to teach! REMINDERS - WEEK 9 Vinny's Donations -  Our tub is located in the wet area. If you can please make any small donation of toiletry items it will go a long way to helping make someone's Christmas very special. These hampers will be put together and handed over at assembly on Friday morning. Books To Go Home -  We ask the each child bring a green bag or plastic bag to school this week so they can take home their books from the year.  Christmas Concert -  On Wednesday at 5.30pm, the entire school will be getting together to celebrate the Year 6 Graduation, the Christmas concert performed by the Year 5's and each year group will be presenting the 2018 Making Jesus Real CAR

Week 10

Good afternoon parents,  Welcome to week 10  This week we will continue Holy Week celebrations.  Holy Week is a very important time in the Catholic faith as we remember and celebrate the events leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection. In literacy, we have moved from persuasive writing to narrative.  In maths, we are learning about 2d and 3d shapes. Today we have made our sundial watches, and as the pictures below show, our watches are pretty successful! Reminders Easter Egg Raffle  - Please make sure that you have brought in your donation for the raffle which will be held on Friday. Your child has been given their raffle tickets. If you would like to be in the raffle, please return one half of the tickets with your family name clearly written on each ticket and $5. I will be collecting the raffle tickets for 3Mc as this year we are having major prizes drawn for each year group. All money raised during this time is donated to Project Compassion. Each
